JDW Engineering Ltd. are a Cheshire, UK based company, involved predominantly in the supply and installation of sheet metal, steel fabrication and plastic ventilation ducts. Established in 1965, the company quickly outgrew its premises and moved to the current location at Tameside Works, in the Tame Valley area of Dukinfield. The company occupies over 22,000 sq. ft. of workshop area and an office area of 3,000 sq. ft.
During its history the Company has been involved with contracts of various sizes, from the very small to ductwork contracts of 1 million pounds plus. In 1989 the Company invested in a number of items of computerised machinery to update the existing workshop and built additional workshops to accommodate this growth.
In the last fifteen years, one of our most high profile projects was the Pepsi Max Big One roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. With speeds of 85mph and a height of 235 feet, JDW Engineering was involved in the steel fabrication work of what was at one point the tallest roller coaster in the world. Our role involved creating a tubular tunnel, in the shape of two Pepsi Max cans.
At the other end of the scale, our expertise in building ventilation ducts has seen our company build laptop storage cabinets for schools.
Company Structure
JDW Engineering Ltd. currently has 4 Directors J.D. Wood, K. Moorhouse, R.W. Wood and B. Bailey. The Company currently employs 33 full time clerical, sales, works and erection staff. In addition to full time staff JDW uses contracted operatives as and when required, these contractors have in most cases been known to the company for many years.
We have full inhouse drawing office capability, utilising 'Autocad' together with traditional drawing office skills. Our steel fabrication work and ventilation ducts are created in a short period of time, making use of the latest labour saving machinery.
Our company is based in the Cheshire town of Dukinfield, close to Stalybridge, Ashton-under-Lyne and the M60 motorway. We are well positioned for the rest of the UK, with motorways and trunk routes close by.
